Trayvon Martin's parents got emotional at a special commission meeting Monday night as they stood before Sanford city leaders asking for justice for their son.
"My heart is broken, that was my baby," said Sybrina Fulton, Martin's mom inside of Sanford's Civic Center.
Hundreds inside watched.
"George Zimmerman took my son away, he was not only my son, but my best friend," said his dad, Tracy Martin.
Sanford city mayor, Jeff Triplett moderated as speakers like Reverends Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson demanded George Zimmerman - who admits to shooting and killing Martin in self-defense - be arrested.
More than six-hundred people watched inside, thousands more outside at Fort Mellon Park on a jumbotron.
People wore hooded sweatshirts and held skittles in their hands in Trayvon Martin's memory - many participated in the march at Centennial Park, that took place before the town hall meeting.
Reverend Jesse Jackson talked one on one with FOX35 about the new developments in Trayvon Martin's case.
"They killed his body now they're trying to kill his reputation," said the civil rights activist about George Zimmerman claiming Trayvon Martin attacked him first by punching him in his nose and repeatedly banging his head onto the sidewalk.
"No amount of dirt they throw on Trayvon's grave will make us change our minds about the need for racial justice - which is the American dream for all of us," he said.
