As part of the NASCAR's Green Clean Air program, employees from NASCAR, International Speedway Corporation, Daytona International Speedway and Americrown planted 110 trees throughout Volusia County.
NASCAR Green Clean Air is a unique program that plants 10 trees for each Green Flag that drops during races, capturing 100% of the carbon produced by the on track racing at the events. As a result of the 54th annual Daytona 500 in February, 110 trees were planted at Mainland High School, Bethune Point, North Street Park in Daytona Beach and Orange City Elementary School in West Volusia.
