Great Lakes State Fair Coming to Novi Labor Day Weekend

The Michigan State Fair is a thing of the past, but organizers are working on something for the present.
The Suburban Collection Showplace will soon host the Great Lakes State fair in Novi. This is good news for fans of the traditional state fair which was canceled in 2009 after then Governor Jennifer Granholm ended state financing.
At a press conference on Wednesday a schedule and prices for the Great Lakes State Fair which will include livestock exhibits, entertainment and outdoor rides.
The Great Lakes State Fair will run Labor Day weekend, August 31 through September 3. Tickets will go on sale July 1 and cost $25 for adults and children older than 12 and $20 for children 2-12.
Tickets purchased at the gate will cost $30 and $25. Those interested only in livestock and indoor exhibits and entertainment will pay $6/$5 in advance or $8/$6 at the gate.
