WALLED LAKE, Mich. (WJBK) -
We got our first look at the 29-year-old Detroit woman who prosecutors say is responsible for stabbing a woman. Dominique Simone Jones is accused of stabbing the 24-year-old woman inside of the Walled Lake Villa Apartments at 5:00 a.m. Tuesday.
The fight started inside and involved three women, police say, over jealousy, neighbors telling us over a man.
"Saw three of them starting stabbing each other, and a girl right there on the sidewalk with blood," said John Burks. "There was blood down the side of my truck where she was running into the woods trying to get away from these girls."
He saw the aftermath. One of the victims was bleeding as she leaned against his green truck. Jones is accused of stabbing the woman with a kitchen knife in the hands and forearms while the victim's small child slept inside the apartment.
Burks says he knew the victim and gave her a ride a few times.
"She tried to get me to watch her baby a few times, take her to work, drop her kid off at the daycare center and then take her to Livonia to work and pick her up and stuff."
Jones is being held on $25,000 bail.
Blood is still in the entrance way. The victim ran through the woods bleeding before collapsing on Pontiac Trial. Jones is now charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm.
"She was a really nice girl. That's why I didn't understand why she would do something like that, you know what I'm saying," Burks remarked.
The child was being held by protective services before being turned over to a relative.
Jones was injured. The other woman had stab wounds, but is expected to recover. Another 17-year-old that was with the women was questioned and released.
Jones will be appearing in court again on June 6 at 9:15 a.m. for her preliminary hearing.
