Daytona Beach International Speedwaywill pay tribute to four Congressional Medal of Honor recipients at the upcomingCoke Zero 400 Weekend.
The Medal of Honor is the highestmilitary decoration awarded by the United States government. The recipients being honored, all from theVietnam War, are: Michael Fitzmaurice, Specialist Fourth Class, U.S. Army JackJacobs, Captain, U.S. Army Robert Patterson, Staff Sergeant,U.S. Army and James Taylor, Captain, U.S.Army.
This is fourth straight year thatthe Coke Zero 400 will honor Medal of Honor recipients. A special salute willtake place during pre-race ceremonies. In addition, the four Medal of Honorrecipients will take part in an autograph session with race fans in the SprintFANZONE on Saturday prior to the Coke Zero.
The Coke Zero 400 Weekend beginsFriday July 6, and ends with the Coke Zero 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race onSaturday night, July 7.
