A newly-released video shows neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman at the scene of Trayvon Martin's fatal shooting a day later giving police a blow-by-blow account of his fight with the teen.
Zimmerman told authorities he got out of his car the night in February that he fatally shot Trayvon Martin to get a better look at a street sign so he could direct a police dispatcher to his exact location.
Zimmerman's lawyers-posted his version of the events on their website Wednesday, including his written statement to police, as well as audio and video recordings of his interviews with investigators.
Zimmerman, who is charged with second-degree murder, has said he acted in self defense.
In his Feb. 26 written statement, Zimmerman said he was on his way to the grocery store when he saw a male "approximately 5ft 11in to 6ft 2in casually walking in the rain looking into homes."
Zimmerman said that as he walked back to his vehicle, Martin appeared and said, "You got a problem?" Zimmerman told him he didn't.
"Well you do now," the teenager replied, according to Zimmerman's account.
Zimmerman said Martin punched him in the face as he fumbled for his mobile phone to call 911. Zimmerman said he fell backward and Martin got on top of him and slammed his head on the concrete sidewalk.
At one point, Zimmerman felt Martin reach for his firearm, he said.
Martin said, "You're gonna die tonight," according to Zimmerman, who said he then drew his gun and fired one shot into the teenager's torso.
"You got me,"- Martin said, according to Zimmerman.
