A local marine is being laid to rest Monday after loosing his life in Afghanistan. Lance Corporal Steven Stevens leaves behind a wife and a baby boy whom he never got to meet.

Visitation will be held 9-11 a.m., with funeral services to follow at Hope United Methodist Church, 26275 Northwestern Highway in Southfield. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Memorial Gardens, 17840 Middlebelt in Livonia.
