Michigan's state fair tradition returns this weekend in Novi

NOVI, Mich. (MyFox Detroit) -
It has been three years since there has been a state fair in Michigan. Now the private sector is bringing the tradition back. They're calling it the Great Lakes State Fair and it opens to the public on Friday.
Fox 2's Rob Wolchek reports there will be food, animals, a rodeo ring and a carnival midway. The Shrine Circus will even be performing under the big top.
Admission is $25 for adults and $20 for children if you buy your tickets in advance at www.GreatLakesStateFair.org. Those prices increase by $5 if you purchase tickets at the door. However, once you pay the admission, all the rides, activities and the circus are free with the exception being food and drinks.
Parking is plentiful and costs $5.
The event runs throughout the Labor Day weekend at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. For more information, visit www.GreatLakesStateFair.org.
