Dionne Miller's 'Happenings at Halas' - September 10

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Victory Monday at Halas meant no practice for the Bears. But it IS Packers week and thats the focus. After watching the film the locker room opened, Henry Melton was the first to talk about what they saw. And he said the defense did some really good things-namely Him! ( I added that, he was not overly boastful, but with 2 sacks he could have

been...anyway...) He was pleased with the turnovers. +4 by the D is going to win a lot of games with the offense the Bears have. They don't want to give Aaron Rodgers as much time in the pocket as they did Andrew Luck. So again this week they need to pressure the quarterback in a big way. Melton watched the Pack lose to the 49ers so as he said "we got a chance". Tim Jennings touched on the quick turn around mentioning its toughest physically to get your body ready in just 4 days. The mental preparation is made easier with the fact that coaches and players carry i-pads that instantly have game film, game plans and the play book in everyones hands. Isn't technology amazing? I would be lost without my

i-pad- apparently so would the Bears. Lovie called it their mobile office and Nick Roach said its just so much more convenient. Whatever works, is what I say!

Lovie Smith revisited the win over the Colts for roughly 6 minutes before moving on to the matter at hand. Green Bay. It's been 5 years since the Bears won on Lambeau field. No one's going to argue its a very tough place to play. But this is a new year. The 2012 Bears are the most talented team Lovie Smith has coached and the week 1 Packers defense didn't look as improved as advertised. Sure they will be angry, having lost the home opener....however...isn't the cliche " a team improves most between week 1 and week 2"? Short week or not, Green Bay can't pack a lot of surprises when these teams know each other so well...neither can the Bears. I guess if you're going to have a short week to prepare, facing a familiar foe is probably the one you want. (Lovie said this is true, after I thought it here, so I'm feeling smarter...a little smarter).

Injury News: Peanut Tillman was the biggest casualty in Sunday's game.

Coach said if the team had practice today, Tillman would not have participated-citing the hit to the leg he suffered in the 2nd quarter.

Lovie is always "glass half full" so when he said he expects Tillman to go Thursday, no one was surprised. Further non participants on the "if they had practice" list: Brian Urlacher (Knee- Lovie said he looked great in his first real game action since January 1) Kyle Adams (took a hard hit) J'Marcus Webb (Thumb thing...he would have been limited today) Team hits the practice field for the only time this week on Tuesday...well only time we will get a peek at it before traveling North.

Just Fun: Player rarely walk through the media room. Actually its happened once this season. But today there were 2 who were forced to walk through after they snuck in to use the media bathroom and got locked out of the team only area of Halas Hall and had to go outside to get back in. And they weren't rookies...LOL. It is a uni-sex rest room which is totally fine. But as one of only 4 women who regularly hang out here, I'd love to see a reminder sign above the toilet because the seat is always up...always.
