ATLANTA -

A southwest Atlanta neighborhood continues to pull together to try to help solve the murder of a 21-year-old honors student.

Timothy Ashley was almost home from his part-time job when he was gunned down during a robbery. Ashley had just stepped off a MARTA bus near the corner of Cascade and Danforth roads.

Atlanta police say they believe the college student's death is linked to a series of robberies just outside the city limits. Thursday, they joined neighbors in passing out flyers with the sketches of the men they believe may be responsible for shooting and killing Ashley.

Following the August 22nd crime, residents in the Reunion Place subdivision banded together. They went door-to-door to both distribute flyers and try to raise money for a reward.

Many of those same volunteers were back out Saturday passing out flyers to businesses along Cascade Road. They hope to have 2,000 flyers distributed by Sunday.

They say there is now a $5,000 reward in the case. They urge anyone with information on the case to call Atlanta Crime Stoppers.
