New York City high schools are giving emergency hormonal contraceptives to students without telling parents, nypost.com is reporting.
The paper says it's part of a citywide initiative called "Connecting Adolescents To Comprehensive Health," to combat teen pregnancy and keep students in school.
Parents would have to opt-out after getting a letter about the program, according to The Post.
The Post says NYC schools have long given away free condoms, but this is the first time they're giving away the emergency contraceptive known as "Plan B."
