ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. (WJBK) -

A giant, yellow school bus tends to stand out in a crowd, but that didn't stop a woman, a Rochester Hills bus driver, from using one while allegedly committing a crime.

53-year-old Roseanne Stacho is accused of shoplifting Friday at the Parisian store on North Adams in Rochester Hills while she was on the job and while her big yellow bus was in the parking lot.

"Just doesn't pay to get involved in these kind of things, and certainly taking a school bus like that to a commit a small crime, big crime, any crime (is) going to draw a lot of attention," said Oakland County Sheriff's Department Major Robert Smith.

The sheriff's department said Stacho herself drew attention right away because employees had seen her there acting suspiciously before. They said she carried a shopping bag and went to try on clothes, then came out and walked out without paying for about $500 worth of merchandise.

"Just a textbook, garden variety shoplifting that never usually ends up well for the person stealing from the store," Smith said.

Once she was caught, Stacho told deputies about the bus. Representatives from the bus garage had to come and get it as she was carted off to jail.

We called the school district and the transportation department to find out whether Stacho still has her job. So far, our calls have not been returned.

Stacho was arraigned for shoplifting and released on $10,000 personal bond.
