ATLANTA -

More than 50,000 fans turned out for a tribute to Chipper Jones at Turner Field on Friday.

The Braves held a special tribute before the game for Jones, who is retiring after 19 seasons with the club.

"Tonight is about letting him know glad we are he's a Brave," said Harrison Peele.

Hundreds of Chipper jerseys were worn by fans streaming into Turner Field for the sold out game against the New York Mets.

"It's been awesome. I've loved watching Chipper and everything. Love watching the Braves," said Jason Sikes.

"He's really shown his loyalty and his commitment to Major League Baseball and the Atlanta Braves themselves," said Chuck Thommen.

The Mets went on to beat the Braves 3-1.

If you still want to see Chipper Jones and the Braves, there are two more games this weekend. Tickets are still available.

First pitch Saturday night at Turner Field is at 7:10 p.m.

The Braves finish their home stand against the Mets on Sunday at 1:35 p.m.

Next Friday, the Braves will play a wild card playoff game at Turner Field.   Tickets are still available for that game as well.
