Officials in Farmingdale, Long Island, are considering banning skateboarding on some roads because they say skateboarding is just too dangerous. The village has already banned skateboarding in its three parks.
Some of the neighbors have complained skateboarding isn't safe in their residential neighborhood. So Farmingdale is considering banning skateboarding along a certain hill.
The village board held a public hearing about it Monday night.
Several dozen skateboarders - most of them over 18 - and their supporters showed up to share why skateboarding should stay.
Two people who live near the hill stood up to say they want skateboarders off their street.
If the ban is passed, skateboarders could be fined $100.
