William Enyart is a Democratic candidate seeking election to the U.S. House representing the 12th Congressional District of Illinois.
Enyart first came to the district as an airman in the U.S. Air Force in 1969 stationed at Scott Air Force Base. After finishing his term then completing college, he clerked for Hunter and Schwartz law firm before starting his own law practice practice.
He was also an Adjutant General of the Illinois National Guard with a military rank of Major General who fought to save levees in Southern Illinois, preserve jobs and build bases. He oversaw 13,500 troops and 300 civilian employees, with the task of sending troops into combat zones.
Bill Enyart is running against Republican Jason Plummer.
The 12th district covers parts of Madison county, and all of Alexander, Franklin, Jackson, Jefferson, Monroe, Perry, Pulaski, Randolph, St. Clair, Union and Williamson counties.
