Suspect arrested in Lake Mary burglaries

Posted: Updated:

The Seminole County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday arrested a Deltona for burglarizing multiple homes on Shriver Circle in Lake Mary.

Brandon Capps, 26, is charged with three counts of burglary, two counts of grand theft, two counts firing a missile into a dwelling, and criminal mischief.

Deputies responded to the area at approximately 8 a.m. after a resident heard glass breaking and found a man standing on his pool deck.  The man fled on foot, but a passerby spotted him heading towards a nearby home and alerted deputies.  Deputies searched the home and found Capps hiding in a closet.

Deputies located items in the front room of the home and in the suspect's pockets, which were later identified as stolen from other residents in the area.   The items recovered included electronics, jewelry and designer purses.   Deputies also recovered a pellet gun they believe Capps used to gain entry into the homes he burglarized.

Capps was booked into the John E. Polk Correctional Facility on a $21,350 bond.
