Ormond Beach Police are looking for the suspect in a carjacking in which a man was forced to drive over 200 miles from Boynton Beach to Ormond Beach.
Mark Kaszubski, 50, said he had just gassed up his car in Boynton Beach and was stopped at an intersection, when a man jumped into the back seat and said, 'Drive, or I'll shoot you!'
Investigators said the victim was forced to drive north on Interstate 95 for two hours. The suspect then told him to pull over, so he could look through the trunk. As he searched the trunk, the victim shoved the suspect and got back into his black Lexus, leaving the suspect behind.
The victim called police at a gas station nearby. Ormond Beach Police spokesman Lt Kenny Hayes said a large-scale search was conducted in the area which resulted in the brief lockdown of two schools.
"We notified a couple of the elementary schools in town here that were fairly close to that area, but ultimately, we were not able to find anyone matching that description in that area," said Hayes.
The suspect is described as a white man, wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt and has a bushy beard. Anyone with information is asked to call the Ormond Beach Police Dept. Investigators say the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is handling the case because that's where the incident originally took place.
