An Iowa high school football coach is suspended by his district, accused of violating the ban on bullying and corporal punishment, for making a student athlete run laps as punishment for mouthing off.
The Des Moines Register reports the coach made the sophomore player run laps and sprints for making "derogatory comments" about the varsity team.
Running as punishment has been used for years in many areas and in many sports to keep players in line.
