ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
Another arrest has been made in the investigation into a fatal home invasion which occurred last month in Ocoee.
Homicide detectives have accused a witness, questioned in the execution style murder of 19-year-old Alex Zaldivar, of perjury. They said 26-year-old Antione McLaren provided false information to law enforcement during an interview. McLaren is a close personal friend of a suspect in the case, according to investigators.
Zaldivar was killed, and others injured, while inside their home at 503 Bernadino Drive in the early morning hours of September 10. The man accused of killing Zaldivar, Bessman Okafor, was out on bail awaiting trial in a home invasion that took place in May at the very same house.
Family members of the victim have said they believe the 27-year-old Okafor and another suspect in the May home invasion, 26-year-old Nolan Bernard, had returned to the home in an attempt to kill witnesses who were expected to testify against them.
