Midwest Technical Inspections in Hanover Park has an immediate need for a Billing Clerk - this is a part-time position (between 30-35 hours/week, which may at times be up to 40 hours/week based on volume of work), with the potential to convert to a full-time position if the growth of the volume of work becomes consistent.
MTI provides both residential and commercial property inspections throughout the U.S. to insurance companies for underwriting purposes, and we operate a National Call Center, completing phone surveys of homeowners, auto owners, contractors and business owners.
The Billing Clerk will enter information from completed field and phone inspections into our computer system, which in turn appears on our inspectors' record of completed reports (from which they're compensated) as well as on our insurance company customers' invoices, sent monthly.
The Billing Clerk is primarily responsible for Customer Billing; reviewing completed customer order tickets for errors, and pursuing questionable notes from the Review Department; entering completed dates into the MTI system for reviewed tickets, filing completed tickets by week and by customer; comparing weekly ticket counts against MTI's system's weekly invoice report, etc.. Discrepancies are to be researched and corrected.
Critical Skills: Accurate Data Entry skills, both alpha and numeric; basic experience with computers (saving files, scrolling through data, etc.); and attention to detail. It's essential that the reports ultimately produced by Billing have a very high level of accuracy and integrity.
This position is sedentary; work is done at a desk, using a keyboard and computer to process the information. There are hard copies to edit and review, but the required information is entered into the computer.
