At the Showcase of Citrus in Clermont, visitors can stroll through acres of groves and enjoy more than 70 varieties of citrus.
Its wildest adventure, however, is a monster-truck eco safari that tours the attraction's 2,500 acres of citrus and cattle farm.
The Monster Truck Off-Road Eco Tour travels through citrus groves, upland palmetto, oak and pine scrub habitat, cattle pastures and wooded swamps -- the head waters to the Everglades watershed.
Visitors on the eco tour can see alligators, deer, hogs, wild turkeys and bald eagles while riding the truck. Occasionally, a small, elusive flock of six macaws can be seen, Showcase of Citrus owner John Arnold says.
Cows also will approach the truck for fruit.
"The cattle just love the fruit. It's kind of a sweet treat," Arnold told David Does It's David Martin.
November and April are the best time for citrus pickings, according to Arnold.
The Showcase of Citrus is on U.S. 27 in Clermont. Prices for the eco tour are $20 for adults, $10 for children 4-12, and there's a discount for groups. Call 352-394-4377, email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit showcaseofcitrus.com for more information.
