Cobo Center renovation includes revamped catering menu

DETROIT (WJBK) - The exterior of the Cobo Center isn't the only thing undergoing a major renovation. On the inside, chefs have completely revamped the center's catering menu.
Centerplate, Cobo's food and beverage service provider, introduced a new Michigan-themed menu that draws upon the area's ethnic roots and features seasonal local produce from Detroit's Eastern Market.
"We want to really raise the level of quality of the food," said executive chef Jamie Miller.
Items featured include a Michigan salad with locally grown cherries, roasted grouper stuffed with shaved fennel and lemon and gourmet mac & cheese.
Cobo's $221 million renovation is scheduled to completed in time for the 2014 auto show.
