SeaWorld Orlando raised admission ticket prices on Thursday at its Florida parks.
A single-day adult ticket to SeaWorld rose just over 4 bucks to $89, the same price charged by Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando. Admission to Aquatica, the company's water park, rose 5 bucks to $55. But by far the largest increase is for SeaWorld's basic annual pass, which rises 25 percent to $119.99.
Florida residents can now once again purchase the Fun Card at SeaWorld Orlando, which allows entry to the theme park for the rest of 2012 and all of 2013. The price is the same as single-day admission to SeaWorld.
The Fun Card includes several annual events at the park, including Bands, Brew & BBQ, Viva La Musica, Summer Nights and seasonal fare. There are no blackout dates. The Fun Card, which can be purchased at www.seaworldorlando.com does not include free parking or merchandise and food discounts.
SeaWorld is in the midst of its largest expansion ever, the creation of Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin. The frigid ride will explore the South Pole region "through the penguins' eye."
