A suspect who allegedly stabbed his wife to death on Friday is still hospitalized, police say.
Officers said Salvador Garcia-Sanchez is still not out of a hospital after he was admitted almost a week ago in serious condition.
Garcia-Sanchez allegedly physically assaulted and stabbed his wife 41-year-old Maria Gonzalez, outside of a home near Greenway Parkway and Cave Creek Road.
After Officers arrived, Gonzalez was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she died as a result of her injuries.
Garcia-Sanchez was also injured but police didn't know how he became injured. He will be charged with first degree murder and kidnapping once he is released.
The couple's three children and Gonzalez's five children from another marriage were at home during the alleged stabbing.
Phoenix Police say Garcia-Sanchez was out on bond from ICE, possibly from being in the United States illegally.
