Fox 35's David Martin visited a water exercise class and an open-water swim class Thursday morning led by Mark Canterbury of Water Exercise Technologies, which offers in-pool fitness classes, open-water swim training and aquatic therapy.
"Water is one of the best exercises anybody can do," Canterbury said. "You're actually working against the resistance of the water, so it's a lot harder than it looks."
Classes at Water Exercise Technologies run one hour.
"If you put as much intensity in the water than on land, you can burn more calories," he said.
Canterbury offers a free first class for mentioning "Fox."
