WINTER PARK, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
A Winter Park early-voting location was evacuated Saturday after two suspicious packages were found and detonated.
According to Winter Park Police, a polling deputy at the library notified them about a small cooler that was left unattended that had wires sticking out.
Authorities then blocked off streets, evacuated the polling location and called in a bomb squad. The FBI also was notified.
Voting was stopped for several hours as robots examined and detonated the suspicious package.
Police say shortly after, a K-9 alerted to a black bag that was also left attended.
It, too, was detonated.
Voting resumed hours later.
Orange County's Elections Office told reporters there were nine other polling locations voters could have gone to if they didn't want to wait or leave and return to cast their ballot.
Most voters who waited or left and came back told Fox 35 it was the last thing they expected on the last day of early voting.
