She was determined to vote, even though she was going into labor.
A pregnant woman who went to go early vote the Volusia County Historic Courthouse in DeLand began having contractions while waiting in a line which wrapped about the rotunda of the building. Knowing it could be hours before she would be able to cast her ballot, she asked if she could skip ahead in the line. Voters obliged, even helping her up a flight of stairs to a voting station.
Despite the discomfort of the whole ordeal and audible groans from the woman, she was able to vote. As she was led back downstairs, her water broke, according to witnesses. She was taken to the hospital by her husband where she delivered her child.
We are told she is now resting at home with her new baby.
