This Thanksgiving may leave your wallet feeling a little lighter.

A new survey by the American Farm Bureau finds turkey prices are 3 percent higher than a year ago, making the average cost of the 10-serving meal this year about $49.

Experts say the price increase is not because of a shortage of turkey but more likely due to competing meats selling at a higher price.
