Police say a man who was shot outside of a loft apartment complex in northeast Atlanta on Monday has died.
The shooting happened in the breezeway of the Ford Factory Lofts on Ponce de Leon Avenue at around 5 p.m. Police say 20-year-old Lee Lowery III was shot at least one time in the chest.
"We have talked to some people who have provided some information to us, so we're in the process of reviewing their statements," said Lt. Paul Guerrucci of the Atlanta Police Department.
Police said that it appeared that robbery was the motive in the shooting.
Some employees at the restaurant next door heard the shot and say it shook them up. As police search for the gunman, people who live and shop in center said they are on edge.
"Seriously it does make me feel uncomfortable because I live right up there," said Irving Coty.
Lowery was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition, and later died.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact Atlanta Police Homicide Investigators at 404-546-4235 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
