MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of the New Jersey man who died after getting into a fight outside an upstate New York bar.

Police in Middletown tell the Times Herald-Record that the man has been identified as 46-year-old Allan Cardona of Hackensack. Officials say Cardona had been temporarily living at a Middletown address and was at a local bar early Saturday morning when he got into a fight with another patron.

Police say Cardona was beaten outside the bar by 23-year-old Kevin Conklin of Middletown.

Cardona died at Orange Regional Medical Center after having been struck in the head numerous times.

Conklin is charged with manslaughter. He's being held in Orange County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail. Information on his lawyer wasn't immediately available.
