Anne Pizzoferrato is particularly sensitive when it comes to animals. Her rescue dog, Cocoa, was severely abused years ago, even shot several times in the back by some cruel person with a pellet gun. In fact, Cocoa still has those pellets in her body.
"Shot with pellets, has 16 of 'em in her. Happened before we got her," she said.
It made Pizzoferrato sick to her stomach when she heard her neighbor's cat Kyah was shot and killed with a pellet gun.
"This is absolutely horrendous! You know that poor little cat, she was an indoor outdoor cat. "
Kyah's owner called police after finding her in a drainage pipe near their home. Witnesses saw a man drive by the house and shoot the cat. The cat ran off but was later found later dead.
Pizzoferrato says she won't let Cocoa out in the front yard until the person responsible is caught.
"I don't' understand how anybody could have thought she was a stray. She has her collar, she has her tags, and she's always here. She never goes anywhere else."
