Wade RadzinskiA desk clerk reported a fake bomb threat at a hotel near Gold Dust Avenue and Scottsdale Road on Tuesday.
Scottsdale police say 25-year-old Wade Radzinski called and reported a bomb threat at the Holiday Inn Express he works at.
Radzinski told police he was told to put cash into a bag and leave it outside for a thief or a bomb would be detonated. He said he had already done so before police arrived.
Officers were trying to determine if the threat was real and got Radzinski's permission to search his car.
During the search, officers said they found the amount of cash missing from the hotel.
When Radzinski saw police had found the money, they said he made incriminating statements and told officers the bomb threat was a hoax before they evacuated the hotel.
Radzinski was booked into jail and faces theft and false reporting charges.
