CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Chicago's tourism industry is booming, according to Mayor Emanuel's Wednesday announcement.

During Wednesday's summer ad campaign press conference, the mayor said city tourism generated more than $200 million in spending in Chicago. That means the campaign delivered $161 in spending for every dollar invested.

The cooperative effort was also supported by five of the city's core institutions, including Broadway in Chicago, the Field Museum, the Museum of Science and Industry, Navy Pier and the Shedd Aquarium.
