This story gives new meaning to the phrase "one big happy family." A valley couple is adopting 7 kids, and they're all from the same family.
The Gay family from Gilbert has already adopted 7 kids – now they're adopting 7 more.
Every day is a complex dance at the Gay household, and a little chaos is to be expected when you have 14 kids at home – 11 girls and 3 boys.
Dyan and Kevin Gay began fostering children back in 2004. They've opened their home to at least 45 kids, but 5 years ago, they decided not to say goodbye anymore. They started a family that kept on growing.
This weekend, on National Adoption Day, they are officially doubling in size.
"I went from having zero kids to having 5 kids in a matter of 3 months. And just kind of transitioned into begin a mom really easily," says Dyan.
"It's messy, it's not easy, and it's not for everybody," says Kevin.
Their hearts are open but their home is full. Now they want other able loving families to follow their lead and become foster parents or adopt.
"Take the plunge, take the risk, get involved. You'll never be able to count how many blessings you have," says Kevin.
The Gays said they are stopping at 14.
