PHOENIX -
A delivery truck struck and killed a woman who was walking across the freeway on I-10 and Deck Park Tunnel Thursday morning.
She was hit near the 7th Street exit just before 5 a.m. Thursday. Every lane was closed until 8 a.m., except the HOV and left lane.
No one knows why the woman was crossing the freeway from the south side to the north side.
The driver of the truck told FOX 10 by the time he saw the woman, there was a semi truck behind him and he just couldn't stop fast enough.
She hasn't been identified.
