ALLEN PARK, Mich. (WJBK) -- He plays big on the field, but off the field Stephen Tulloch has an even bigger impact and it's all influenced by one person.
"My mother -- the fact that she was a single parent mom and we didn't have much growing up as a kid, but she always found a way to provide not only for myself, my brothers and sisters, but for other people," he said.
On December 7 at Tre Monti in Troy, Tulloch will team up with Angels of Hope for Athletes Adopting Families. The event is in its fourth year, but this is Tulloch's first year as being the lead athlete.
Athletes Adopting Families is geared towards helping families with children affected by cancer to make their holiday season one to remember.
"For me, it's more than just playing football and making money and doing all that. It's helping people along the way and putting smiles on their (faces) and be able to give back," said Tulloch.
Tulloch has so much support with this event. Not only will many of his current Lions' teammates join him on December 7, but many of your favorites from the Detroit Red Wings, some of the all-time greats from the Pistons and many, many more will be attending and supporting this cause.
