Calif. Gov's Office calls Arizona a 'parched desert outpost'

Earlier this week we told you about a plan to lure businesses from California to Arizona after their voters approved a higher sales tax and higher income tax on the wealthy.
The Greater Phoenix Economic Council is flying out a hundred California CEO's for a tour of the valley -- to show them why they think they should move their business here.
Friday, the California Governor's Office had a few things to say about the plan to poach businesses. A spokesperson told the LA Times: "Anybody who tries to convince you to leave the best and richest state for some parched desert outpost should be regarded with extreme suspicion."
"If the governor's office wants to make disparaging remarks about Arizona and our community, I think that's what happens when you are frustrated and don't have any solutions," responded Barry Broome, Greater Phoenix Economic Council.
"California is starting to scramble from the efforts by the GPEC. We have eleven CEOs I just got off the phone with today with 2 more CEOs. There's going to be an increasing concern in California. People like our markets."
GPEC won't reveal what companies they have spoken to.
By the way, we spoke to the California Governor's Office and they are confident companies will stay.
