Recovery efforts from the devastation brought on by superstorm Sandy are being helped along with free legal advice for victims.

N.J. Gov. Chris Christie announced on Monday that a toll-free hotline, 1-888-541-1900, had been established for New Jersey survivors facing legal issues.

Those with storm-related legal issues can call the hotline to request free legal assistance 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday, according @GovChristie, the governor's Twitter account.

On Sunday, Vice President Joe Biden toured storm-wrecked parts of New Jersey including Seaside Heights and Hoboken.

Biden said the superstorm brought with the devastation an opportunity to rebuild public transit infrastructure that's strong enough to withstand the challenges of the next century.

"We're going to come back better," he said at the Hoboken PATH station, which remains out of service since the storm flooded it. "But it's going to take time."
