A survey picked up by the Sydney Morning Herald says nearly half of adults would give alcohol to a 17 year old for a party at home, while 1 in 5 would do the same for a 14 year old.
Many people have argued to me that it's safer for kids to experiment with alcohol in a controlled environment instead being at a friend's house where they could be more easily tempted to drink and drive... or engage in other dangerous behaviors.
But the author of the study argues that exposure to alcohol at that young age could do permanent harm to the child's brain during an important stage of development.
Would you give alcohol to young teens?
