NEW YORK (AP) - Police say a stray bullet struck a woman in the face while she was washing dishes inside her Brooklyn apartment.

They say the bullet went through the kitchen window of her first-floor apartment in the Weeksville Gardens Houses in Crown Heights. It occurred around 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Police say the kitchen overlooks a courtyard.

The 32-year-old woman was taken to a hospital where she was treated and released.
