Family is a wonderful thing and for many people, it's everything. Yet, sometimes the big picture gets lost in life's messy details.
A study once found 90% of Americans feel anxiety and stress during the holidays. 77% of people blamed family gatherings for increasing the stress.
Thanksgiving is two days away and big family gatherings await, so we brought a couple of questions to people along Michigan Avenue. We asked them to rank three Thanksgiving things in order of their favorites: food, family, and football. Then, we asked if getting together with their family is wonderful, or maybe a bit less than wonderful.
"It's an opportunity for people just to come together and share love with each other," one person said. "I mean that's the greatest gift to do."
"Food cuz you need food to survive. Family second and football last because I don't watch football," another commented.
"It's kind of like sitting with a political council. You know, you gotta talk with everyone and make sure you're keeping all the relationships intact and try not to step on too many toes. Food while football with family in the background," another Michigan Ave passerby told our cameras.
