BERNARDS, N.J. (AP) - Police say a one-vehicle accident on a New Jersey interstate killed two people and hospitalized two others, one in critical condition.

The accident happened early Thanksgiving morning in the westbound lanes of Interstate 78 in Bernards, Somerset County.

State police tell The Star Ledger of Newark a car ran off the road into the grassy median near Exit 33 and struck a tree.

Two occupants of the car were dead on arrival at a hospital. One is listed in critical condition and the four suffered minor injuries.

Police say it's not known whether the driver had been drinking.
