Haines City, FL - A man missing for at least three weeks found decomposing in his home.
Polk County Sheriff's Homicide detectives have arrested and charged his wife Sheree Peters with one count of Manslaughter and one count of Tampering With Evidence in the death of James Peters.
Affidavits show family members and a neighbor have asked about James' whereabouts for the past three weeks. Sheree told several different stories about where James has been. On Friday relatives went to check on James. Sheree was in the yard and they say she began acting nervous saying she had to leave to get gas. Detectives say the relatives found James' decomposing body laying on the ground, inside the home.
Polk County Sheriff's documents show Sheree Peters was found by deputies at a hotel room in Dundee with crack cocaine. She told deputies her husband died when they were struggling with a gun. When asked where the gun was, she then told detectives she sold the gun for crack cocaine.
Both James and Sheree Peters have previously booked into the Polk County Jail on domestic violence charges against each other.
