A father and son on Long Island are accused of kidnapping a man at gunpoint and forcing him to drive around for more than an hour.

Suffolk County police say a 24-year-old man was getting into his car that was parked on Wilson Avenue in Middle Island, at approximately 4 p.m. Sunday when he was approached by two men who forced the victim at gunpoint to drive them around.

After approximately an hour and 45 minutes, police say the men made the victim pull into the Plaza 16 shopping center in Coram.

Police say the men got out of the vehicle and went into the Dominican Star Bodega, the victim escaped and called 911.

Police arrested Sheldon Davis, 40, outside of the bodega, and Latif Davis, 22, inside the bodega.

The pair faces kidnapping and menacing charges.  Latif Davis also was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Both men were scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Central Islip.  It wasn't clear if they had a lawyer.
