Teenage pregnancy hits historic low

According to the CDC, the teen pregnancy rate is at a historic low. In 2011, it decreased 8% from 2010 and 49% from the peak in 1991. But, experts say that the teen pregnancy rate is not low enough and the American Academy of Pediatrics--which represents 60,000 pediatricians-- has taken a strong, and somewhat controversial stand on making it easier for teens to get emergency contraception by recommending that pediatricians counsel all of their adolescent patients about emergency contraception and offer prescriptions for the in advance of needing it.
