CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The Food and Drug Administration is cracking down on the New Mexico peanut butter plant at the center of a Trader Joe's salmonella outbreak.

The Sunland processing plant is the nation's largest organic peanut butter maker.

The company had planned to re-open this week, but the FDA is using a new federal law to suspend the company's registration until Sunland can prove its facilities are clean.
