ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) -
A large, metal gorilla statue was stolen from an Orlando-area hotel sometime over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
The statue was taken from a gated pool area of the The Metropolitan Express hotel located at 6323 International Drive.
Authorities believe the statue, valued at $5,000, was stolen between 11 a.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday. The hotel does not have video surveillance and the pool gates are commonly left propped open to allow access for the general to the Tiki Poolside bar.
