Carjacker targeting elderly drivers

Posted: Updated:

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - Police believe the same man is responsible for carjacking elderly drivers in Camden County.

Authorities say the suspect wielded a box cutter and approached an older driver stopped at a traffic light in Pine Hill on Nov. 14. Police say the suspect got in the vehicle and forced the man to drive to Camden to buy heroin. The suspect also took the victim's cellphone and $400.

Police believe the same man forced his way into a car while an older driver was stopped at a light in Clementon on Nov. 24. Police say the suspect carried a large knife, took $100 from the driver and ordered him to drive to Camden, where he got out of the vehicle.
