Andre Johnson may have served hard time for shooting and paralyzing a man -- but now that he's back behind bars after a second shooting while still on parole, it seems he hasn't learned his lesson.
Johnson was released from prison after serving a sentence for assault in March 2010, but he was still on supervised release with the Department of Corrections when police say he committed a much more serious crime.
At 34 years old, Johnson has spent more than a third of his life in prison -- and it looks like he's heading back after returning to some old habits just a few years after getting out.
Johnson was arrested after police accused him of shooting and killing a man and wounding his friend at an apartment on St. Paul's east side in July. Investigators say he plotted with his mother to rob the man because he carried lots of cash from selling heroin and Johnson needed the money.
It wouldn't be the first time he'd taken to pulling a trigger, after all. In fact, his previous pull left life-long consequences for his victim.
FOX 9 News first reported on Johnson nearly 16 years ago when he shot Troy Kelsey in the back three times after Kelsey delivered pizza to Johnson's girlfriend. The bullets left Kelsey paralyzed from the waist down, and investigators say Johnson did it for a cheap thrill.
Johnson is now facing charges of murder and assault, and he remains in the Ramsey County Jail on $1 million bail.
