Braves trade Tommy Hanson for Angels' Jordon Walden

ATLANTA -

The Atlanta Braves said on Friday that right-hander Tommy Hanson has been traded to the Los Angeles Angels  of Anaheim in exchange for pitcher right-hander Jordon Walden.

Walden appeared in 123 games with the Angles over the course of three seasons, according to the Braves. Walden was an All-Star for the Angles in 2011, and according to FanGraphs, ranks third among relief pitchers in average fastball velocity with 97.2 mph since 2010.

According to the Atlanta Braves website, Hanson's ERA in his four seasons was 3.61, and he had a 45-32 overall record. Hanson went 13-10 for the Braves last season.

The Braves thanked Hanson for his contributions to the team.
